Frequently Asked Questions

Organizing Peeps

What does it mean to "pause" following a peep and how does it work?

In situations where you want to temporarily unfollow someone, maybe because they are twittering from a conference, sports event, etc, you can "pause" following them from PeepNote. PeepNote will unfollow them in Twitter, but mark them as paused within PeepNote to help assist you in remembering to unpause them later.

How does marking favorites work?

By clicking on the star next to a peep's avatar, you can mark a peep as a favorite. You can then use the Favorites filter at the top of the Peep listing to toggle showing favorites, non-favorites, or both.

Can I add a peep that I don't follow?

Yes. With PeepNote you can tag and take notes on people even if you don't follow them. This way, you can remember someone you met, and remember important things about them, without having their tweets in your regular timeline. You can use the Find a User on Twitter field on the sidebar of your Peeps listing to find a Twitter user, and then add them without following them.

Why was I only allowed to import 2500 of my Twitter friends? I follow many more than that.

2500 is the limit for the free Basic Plan. To import more peeps you will need to upgrade to the Plus Plan, which at this time, is by invite only.

What if I have more than one Twitter username? Can PeepNote help me organize the people I follow with multiple Twitter usernames?

Yes! When you register with PeepNote, PeepNote will synchronize with whatever Twitter account you are currently logged into. If you register on PeepNote with one Twitter account and then want to organize Twitter followings for another Twitter account. Log out of PeepNote, visit Twitter to login to the other Twitter account, and then log back into PeepNote. PeepNote will then sync your Twitter information for the other Twitter account.

Twitter Importing

Do you import all my mentions?

For Plus Plan members, PeepNote records the most recent mention of you from each peep. This means that until you've added a Twitter user as a peep, PeepNote will not begin tracking their mentions.

After I register with PeepNote and synchronize my Twitter account information, I notice that the data for "Your Peeps" in PeepNote does not exactly match the data I see on Twitter for the number of followers, followings or favorites. Why?

PeepNote uses Twitter's own API for synchronizing the data. We have reported that the Twitter API does not always pull in the most up-to-date Twitter account information. This appears to be due to some issue with Twitter's API - most likely a timing issue. Visit PeepNote and synchronize your Twitter data again in 24 hours, and the data should be updated.

What does it mean that PeepNote imports and resyncs my Twitter peeps?

When you first sign up for PeepNote, we import all those that you follow on Twitter. From that point on, you can at any time request a resync using the link in your sidebar. This directs PeepNote to reimport those you have since followed or unfollowed, and update the data for the rest. As well, if you have not done a resync in 10 days, it will be started automatically when you log in.

"Super smooth and sleek. The design is top notch. The functionality even better. Easy and intuitive—I had imported my peeps and was tagging and making notes rather quickly. If only I could get my dev team to crank out apps like this in two days."
